The problem

Google Calendar is built for planning, not for showing

Google Calendar is a great place to run your events programme. Its website embed is another story. It shows your events, but not in a form worth looking at.

Three views that look the same

The built-in embed offers week, month and agenda views. All three look like Google Calendar, not like your organisation.

No images, no fonts, little control

There is no room for event photos and no control over fonts. A few colour and display settings are all you get.

Limited filtering

You can choose which calendars to include, but not which events. Everything in a calendar shows, or nothing does.

It’s only a calendar

The embed lives on one web page. It doesn’t feed your newsletter, your posters, your lobby screen or a banner on your homepage. Those still get updated by hand.

How it works

From your calendar to your audience in four steps

Keep planning in Google Calendar. Revisual does the rest.

  1. Connecting a Google Calendar to Revisual
    1

    Connect Google Calendar

Sign in with your Google account and allow Revisual to see your calendars. Personal Gmail and Google Workspace accounts both work.

  2. Choosing which Google calendars to publish
    2

    Choose what to show

Tick the calendars you want to publish. Everything else on the account stays private.

  3. Customising the event calendar’s colours and fonts in the Revisual design editor
    3

    Make it yours

This is where your events change. Pick one of eight templates, add your colours and fonts, and fine-tune layout and behaviour from 250+ options. Your event images and booking links become part of the design.

  4. Adding the event calendar to a WordPress page with the Revisual block
    4

    Publish everywhere

Add it to WordPress with the free plugin (block or shortcode), paste one script into Wix, Squarespace, Webflow or any site, or share a hosted page. Add your upcoming events to Mailchimp and other email campaigns. The same events feed your QR codes and screens.

What carries over

What your Google Calendar events become

You fill these in when you create an event in Google Calendar. Revisual turns each one into part of a polished event listing.

Where your events go

Worth seeing wherever you show it

Update an event once. Every place it appears updates with it.

Your website

Embed on Wix, Squarespace, Webflow or any site with one script.

Email and Mailchimp

Your upcoming events in every newsletter, straight from Google Calendar. No copying event by event.

WordPress

Free plugin with a block and a shortcode. No coding.

QR codes

Auto-generated codes for posters and flyers that always show what’s on now.

Kiosks and screens

Full-screen displays for lobbies, receptions and digital signage.

Customise far beyond the embed settings

Google’s embed settings let you change a few colours and pick a view. Revisual gives you eight templates and 250+ design and behaviour options, so your calendar looks like your website, on phones as well as desktops.

Show the right events to the right people

The built-in embed shows whole calendars. Revisual filters by rule, so you can show only workshops on one page and only family events on another, from the same calendar.

Search engines can read it

Revisual adds Event schema markup to the page your calendar sits on. That makes your events eligible for rich results in Google Search. The built-in iframe cannot do that. The markup is optional, so you can switch it off.

You can see what works

The Event Engagement report shows impressions, views and engagement ratio for every event, so you can see which events people actually open. You can split it by source: widget, direct link, QR code or email.

How do I customise the Google Calendar embed?

Google’s embed settings let you change a few colours, choose a week, month or agenda view and pick which calendars to include. For images, your own fonts, card layouts and event-level filters, connect your calendar to Revisual and choose from eight templates and 250+ options.

Is there an alternative to the Google Calendar embed?

Yes. Revisual connects to Google Calendar and turns your events into a branded, mobile-friendly event calendar you can embed on any website. It also adds Event schema markup for Google and sends the same events to email, QR codes and screens.

Which Google accounts work?

Revisual works with personal Gmail accounts and Google Workspace accounts. With Workspace’s default settings, no admin approval is needed. If your administrator has restricted third-party apps, they may need to approve Revisual first. Revisual works with the Google Calendar you already have; signing up does not create a Google account.

How quickly do changes in Google Calendar appear?

Within seconds. When you add, edit or delete an event in Google Calendar, your embedded calendars, hosted pages and QR code pages show the change straight away. Emails include it from your next send.

Can I show only some of my events?

Yes. Choose which calendars to include, then filter events by rule (and / or / is / is not). Internal events stay private and each audience sees its own events. To filter by tag, add words starting with # to the event description, such as #workshop.

How do I add my Google Calendar to WordPress?

Install the free Revisual plugin, connect Google Calendar in your Revisual account, and add your calendar with the Revisual block or a shortcode. No coding is needed.

Does Revisual post my events to listing sites?

No. Revisual does not post to listing sites such as Eventbrite or Facebook Events. Your events appear only where you place them: your website, emails, QR codes, screens and hosted pages. Visitors can also subscribe to them in their own calendar app.

How much does Revisual cost?

You can connect Google Calendar on the free plan. Revisual’s plans are based on usage: the free plan includes the core features with limits, such as the number of active integrations and widget views. Paid plans raise those limits and add a few extra features, and each comes with a 30-day full-feature trial. See pricing.
