Revisual's Data Protection and Privacy Policy

Revisual.io (a Product of Kathodon LTD) ("Revisual", "we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy and personal data. This Policy describes Revisual's data practices and, where you are located in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area ("EEA"), sets out the information required under the UK General Data Protection Regulation ("UK GDPR") and, where applicable, the EU GDPR.

Kathodon LTD is the data controller responsible for your personal data. Our contact details are set out in the "Contact Us" section below.

Please read the following carefully to understand our practices regarding personal data that we collect from you, or that you provide to us, in connection with your use of our website at https://revisual.io/ ("Site") and the services provided by Revisual ("Services"). By using the Site you are accepting and consenting to the use of your data as described in this policy, to the extent our processing relies on your consent (see "Our Legal Basis for Processing" below).

Changes to this Data Protection and Privacy Policy

We may revise, modify or update this Policy. Where a change is material, we will notify you (for example by email) in addition to updating this page, and will state the date the change takes effect. Please check this policy periodically for updates.

What is Personal Data?

Personal data is any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. Personal data includes information such as an individual's name, home and work addresses, email address, phone number, IP address, and financial information.

Who This Policy Covers

This Policy applies to visitors, registered users, and other individuals whose personal data we process in connection with the Site and Services, regardless of where they are located. Where you are located in the UK or EEA, the additional rights and safeguards described in this Policy apply to you specifically.

Information We Collect and When We Collect It

We collect the following types of information, at the following times:

  • Upon registration with us (name, email address, job title, company name, password).
  • Through your use of our products or the Services.
  • When an inquiry is made with us and through communication with you.
  • Automatically, recorded in our server logs when you visit our Site, including your login information, browser type and version, operating system and platform, IP address, cookies, and the pages you request.

We regard data provided to us as confidential and only share it with your consent, to perform our contract with you, or where we are legally required to do so, and in accordance with this Policy.

When visiting our Site, we also collect information about your website usage, to improve the website and the Services and to understand trends. We may use your data to:

  • Monitor patterns of usage, such as login dates and volumes of data, so we can understand how people are using the Site and the Services.
  • Identify and authenticate you, for security purposes.
  • Detect and prevent fraud and abuse, using your IP address, browser and session information for statistical and analytical purposes.

Visitors to our Site may browse it anonymously; no personal data is collected unless you provide it to us.

We do not store credit or debit card details on this website. All payment data is securely captured and stored by third-party PCI-compliant payment gateways.

Information We Receive From Other Sources

We work closely with third parties (including, for example, business partners; subcontractors in technical, payment and delivery services; advertising networks; analytics providers; search information providers; credit reference agencies) and may receive information about you from them.

Our Legal Basis for Processing

Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies to you, we only process your personal data where we have a valid legal basis to do so. Depending on the purpose, we rely on one or more of the following:

Purpose Legal basis
Creating and administering your account; providing the Services you've signed up for Performance of a contract with you
Billing, tax records, and responding to legal or regulatory obligations Legal obligation
Site security, fraud prevention, service improvement, and understanding usage trends Legitimate interests (we consider these interests do not override your rights and freedoms)
Marketing communications where you have opted in; non-essential cookies Consent (which you may withdraw at any time)

Where we rely on legitimate interests, you have the right to object — see "Your Data Protection Rights" below.

Use of Cookies

Like many other web services, we use a standard technology called "cookies." Some cookies are essential to make websites work properly. Others help provide a better user experience or allow us to measure usage. Our cookies do not gather any personal data beyond what is described in this Policy, and any information gathered by the use of cookies is compiled on an aggregate and anonymous basis where feasible.

Where required by UK/EU law (the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations and equivalent EU rules), we will ask for your consent before placing non-essential cookies, and you can change your preferences at any time via [cookie settings link]. If you reject non-essential cookies, some features of the Site and Services may not work as intended. For more general information about cookies, see www.aboutcookies.org.

Use, Sharing and Disclosure

We will not sell or rent your data, including any of your contacts' data. Nor do we claim any ownership rights over any content you provide to us, which remains 100% yours.

We may use or share your data where it is necessary to complete a transaction, to operate or improve the Services, to do something you have asked us to do, or — where you have consented — to tell you about products and services that may interest you. By requesting the Services, you consent to us using such personal data as necessary to provide them, including using mobile phone numbers you provide to send and receive text messages, and you warrant you are authorised to share such personal data with us.

If you are an existing customer, we will only contact you by electronic means (email or SMS) with information about goods and services similar to those previously purchased or negotiated, consistent with applicable marketing laws (including PECR/GDPR "soft opt-in" rules). If you are a new customer, we will only contact you (or allow selected third parties to contact you) by electronic marketing means where you have consented. You can withdraw this consent, or ask us not to share your details with third parties for marketing purposes, at any time — see "Your Data Protection Rights" below.

How We Use the Information We Collect About You

  • To administer our Site and for internal operations, including troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, research, statistical and survey purposes.
  • To improve our Site to ensure content is presented effectively for you and your device.
  • To allow you to participate in interactive features of the Service, where you choose to do so.
  • To keep our Site safe and secure.
  • To measure or understand the effectiveness of advertising we serve, and to deliver relevant advertising, where you have consented to this.
  • To make suggestions and recommendations about goods or services that may interest you or other users, where you have consented to this.

Where you are contacted with an offer or service based on information you have shared with us, we will provide an opportunity to opt out of further communications of that kind at the time of contact. In connection with any paid Services you have requested, we reserve the right to send certain service announcements and administrative messages that are considered part of your Revisual account, without an opt-out, as these are necessary for us to perform our contract with you.

We May Also Share Data About You When:

  • Required by regulatory bodies to comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.
  • Necessary to operate our business, with our service providers, contractors and vendors (who are bound by data processing agreements requiring them to protect your data).
  • Responding to court orders or legal process, to establish or exercise our legal rights, or to defend against legal claims.
  • Necessary to investigate, prevent, or act on illegal activity, suspected fraud, harm or threats of harm to any person or property, or violations of our Terms of Service.
  • As part of a business transaction. Where your data is transferred as part of such a transaction, we will ensure it continues to be protected in accordance with this Policy (or a Policy providing at least equivalent protection).

Revisual's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

International Data Transfers

To provide the Services, it may be necessary to transfer your personal data to, and store or process it in, countries outside the UK or EEA — for example, where our servers, staff, or service providers are located elsewhere (including the United States).

Where we transfer personal data outside the UK or EEA, we take steps to ensure it receives a comparable level of protection, using one or more of the following safeguards as applicable: transferring to a country the subject to a UK/EU adequacy decision, entering into the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) or EU Standard Contractual Clauses with the recipient, or another lawful transfer mechanism recognised under UK/EU data protection law.

Confidentiality and Security

All information you provide to us is stored on secure servers, and payment transactions are encrypted using SSL/TLS technology. Where we have given you (or you have chosen) a password enabling access to parts of our Site, you are responsible for keeping it confidential and should not share it with anyone.

No data transmission over the internet can be guaranteed 100% secure, and we cannot ensure or warrant the security of information you transmit to us; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we receive your information, we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to secure it on our systems, in accordance with our Security Policy.

Revisual's Commitment & Responsibilities

Revisual is committed to robust data protection and will ensure that:

  • A designated individual holds responsibility for data protection at all times.
  • Everyone managing and handling personal data understands they are contractually responsible for following good data protection practices.
  • All Revisual personnel handling personal data are appropriately trained and supervised.
  • All personal data queries are promptly and courteously dealt with.
  • Our methods of, and performance in, handling personal data are regularly assessed and evaluated.
  • All disclosure of personal data complies with approved procedures.

Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to provide the Services, to comply with our legal and regulatory obligations (including tax and accounting rules), to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements. In general:

  • Account data is retained for the duration of your account, and for a limited period afterward to allow reactivation and to meet legal obligations.
  • Billing records are retained as required by applicable tax law.
  • Server log and analytics data is retained for a limited period for security and diagnostic purposes, after which it is deleted or anonymised.

Where you delete your account or ask us to erase your data, we will do so unless we are required or permitted by law to retain it.

Your Data Protection Rights

If the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies to you, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your personal data, in certain circumstances.
  • Restriction — ask us to restrict processing of your data, in certain circumstances.
  • Portability — request a copy of your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format, or ask us to transmit it to another controller, where technically feasible.
  • Objection — object to our processing of your data where we rely on legitimate interests, including for direct marketing.
  • Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, withdraw that consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at help at revisual.io. We do not charge a fee to consider or respond to your request, unless it is clearly unfounded, repetitive or excessive, in which case we may charge a reasonable fee or decline to act on it. We will need to verify your identity and may ask for further information to locate the data you're referring to. We aim to respond within one month, as required by law.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your data or your request, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, or with your local EU supervisory authority if you are located in the EEA.

Third Party Websites

The Site or Services may contain links to other websites, for example when you access a third-party service to import your data. This Policy does not apply to those third-party websites, which we do not operate, and we do not accept responsibility or liability for them. Please review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.

Children

Our Site and Services are not directed at, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from, individuals under the age of 18 (consistent with the eligibility requirement in our Terms of Service). If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
